Stone's Throw is the result of a longtime ambition to live and work literally a "Stone's Throw" from the Pacific Ocean. Our work is invigorated by our seaside location in Manhattan Beach, California.
But the name "Stone's Throw" also describes our approach to our work. Many communications efforts are like pebbles thrown in the ocean, small splashes in a large pond. We prefer to carefully select our target and throw a few well-aimed rocks.
Our name also reflects the new realities of communications technology. Whether you are in Los Angeles or Sacramento, New York or Washington D.C., or somewhere in between, you are never more than a "Stone's Throw" away.
Stone's Throw is not a "publicity" firm. We do not "spin" reporters or manipulate information. Rather, we help our clients to clearly define their work and to establish themselves as credible sources of information and expertise. We also help our clients to build the capacity to share important information, research and comment with appropriate editors and reporters, as well as communicate directly with targeted audiences.
We listen carefully, both to the needs of our clients, and to the audiences they are trying to reach. When appropriate, we use sophisticated public opinion research to guide our efforts.
We believe in the importance of the written word. We help clients to communicate their work in a clear, concise manner. Our team of designers and photographers also helps our clients to present information in a visually compelling way. We also do terrific video work.
