We get results. Our work has helped our clients to put their issues on the front page, to inform the work of policy makers, and to communicate with foundations, community organizations, elected officials and other key audiences. Examples of our successes include:
News Media Relations
Our work with the Center for the Future of Teaching and Learning has driven front-page coverage and garnered more than 300 references and citations in major newspapers and publications. The Center’s research and recommendations have been the subject of positive editorial and opinion coverage in the Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Sacramento Bee, San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury and other newspapers. The work has also resulted in more than 60 minutes of television broadcast news coverage and extensive radio news reporting.
We helped CollegeMatch to encourage news coverage of its efforts to help low income students get into top colleges, resulting in a front page, column one article in the Los Angeles Times and an extensive story on KPFK/NPR.
Publishing
Working with the California Family Health Council, Inc., we wrote, designed and produced an annual report that provided key information and messages about the organization and helped to brand its identity through the consistent use of logo, color and art. We incorporated a video DVD in the annual report, and also distributed the product via the web, greatly expanding the products’ dissemination.
Website and Email Strategies
Stone’s Throw guided the development of the Talk With Your Kids website and blog, developing content and artwork for use in the sites. We also developed video products for streaming on the website.
Video
Stone’s Throw produced a hybrid Keynote/video presentation for the Cotsen Foundaton showing audiences what good teaching looks like. The work was presented to a group of education reporters from around the country at a conference at Columbia University.
